Special lathe for rebars
Our client turned a section of the rebars for subsequent threading.
Turning was performed on a conventional lathe. To improve the cycle time, a special lathe was made where the bar was loaded against a mechanical stop. At the start of the cycle, hydraulic clamps hold the bar and the mechanical stop retracts. A hydraulic linear unit inserts the bar in a special head, where it is turned.
